Separate — via your provider. We guide you to IMG Patriot Lite, our US insurer, with adventure sports cover for Brazil: about USD 32 for a two-week stay, more for a longer one. Residents of Brazil take a domestic policy from our Brazilian insurer, Chubb / World Nomads, priced in reais. WhatsApp sends you the right one.

What the fee covers
RUSH advances helicopter logistics (~USD 6,000) and coordinates your evacuation. We are not the insurer.

Important to know
RUSH is not an insurance company. We verify third-party insurance and coordinate logistics on a best-effort basis. Rescue depends on weather, aircraft availability, location, and other factors — we cannot guarantee evacuation or response times.
RUSH is just getting started
Our first pilot runs from 1 September to 31 December 2026, along the coast between Cumbuco and Tatajuba, with partner pousadas all the way. Coverage is valid in this region only, for the duration of the pilot.
Final departure times
During the pilot the helicopter is based in Fortaleza and can only fly in daylight, so every village has a last departure of the day — the further from Fortaleza, the earlier it is. After that hour, evacuation waits for the next morning. We are working to add a helicopter based in Sobral as soon as possible, which will push these times later.

Activities covered during the pilot
RUSH is built for adventure travellers — not only kitesurfers. Coverage applies while doing normal tourist adventure activities in the region, including:

Not covered
Extreme or high-risk activities outside this scope, such as paragliding, base jumping, or other activities not included in your insurance policy's adventure sports cover. When in doubt, check your policy or ask us on WhatsApp.

Get travel insurance (~USD 32 for 2 weeks, or a domestic policy)
You need a policy covering Brazil and adventure sports, including medical transport. WhatsApp asks first where you live and then sends the right link: visitors from abroad go to IMG Patriot Lite (around USD 32 for two weeks, more for a longer stay), residents of Brazil to a domestic Chubb / World Nomads policy priced in reais. Either way you buy and pay for it directly with the insurer — it is not part of the RUSH fee — and the bot tells you what it needs back to verify it.
Pay the logistics fee
RUSH is not an insurer — we advance helicopter logistics (~USD 6,000). The coordination fee is USD 47. You pay via a secure link sent in WhatsApp.
Pick up a wristband and link it
Collect your NFC wristband at any participating pousada, then tap or scan it and confirm in WhatsApp to link it to your profile and policy.
What happens in an emergency
- 1Tell the people around you that you have RUSH coverage.
- 2Someone scans the NFC wristband with their phone. This needs internet — most spots have 4G, or Wi-Fi at a nearby pousada.
- 3The scan opens your coverage profile and shows the emergency number.
- 4Call that number. The person on call assesses the injury and decides whether a helicopter is dispatched.
- 5The helicopter flies you to the hospital best suited to your injuries.
RUSH is for life- or limb-threatening cases only — that assessment is the on-call desk’s call.
